Blood Donation Drive

Blood Donation

Blood is needed to save lives in times of emergencies and to sustain the lives of those with medical conditions like leukemia, thalassemia and bleeding disorders, as well as patients who are undergoing major surgeries. With an ageing population, more advanced life-saving medical procedures, and new hospitals being established, more blood will be needed every year.  

In line with Civil Defence Pillar, we will be having a Blood Donation Drive on Sat, 15 Feb 2025.

No pre-registration is required.

*Please note that on the event day you will be required to provide your personal data to Singapore Red Cross to register for the blood donation. Do note that you are responsible for the personal data that you provide or disseminate via Fever, and your personal data shall be subject to the personal data policies of Singapore Red Cross.

There are some basic requirements you need to fulfil in order to become a blood donor. You may become a donor if you:

  • are aged between 16 and 60 (Youths aged 16 and 17 will need their parent/guardian to complete the parental consent form via SingPass or complete the physical parental consent form)
  • weigh at least 45kg
  • are in good health
  • do not have any symptoms of infection (e.g. sore throat, cough, runny nose, diarrhoea) for at least one week
  • did not have fever in the last four weeks
  • have a haemoglobin level of at least 12.5g/dL for females, and at least 13.0g/dL for males. (A test will be administered by trained nurses at the donation site.)
  • Not have had Covid-19 in the past 28 days.
  • If you have travelled in the past 4 months please check in Can I Donate Blood? section under A-Z list > Travel overseas.

For your safety and well-being, we advise you to wait at least 4 weeks (28 days) before your next donation attempt if your haemoglobin level is below the donation threshold. This allows your body time to replenish the iron stores and to build up your haemoglobin level.
