Preschool children will learn more about National Service and make appreciation gifts for their fathers or extended family members as part of their curriculum during the SAF Day period.
Example of a completed appreciation card
This year, as Singapore marks 40 years of Total Defence (TD40), the initiative has an added aim of cultivating awareness among children of how the community also plays a part in keeping Singapore safe by remaining united and vigilant.
A series of lesson plans have been specially developed for preschool children aged 4 to 6 years. Preschools are encouraged to cover 3 core lesson plans and at least one other supplementary plan. These can be incorporated within your lessons on any day between 1 July to 8 August 2024.
