Brace yourself music fans! Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) is BACK for its second installation at Sepang International Circuit, Kuala Lumpur. Famed for its eclectic line ups, FMFA promises to cater to all music fans in Asia. With four different musical stages, you can expect to see a whole range of artists ranging from hip hop, pop, indie to dance all within a day. This year, the FMFA organisers decided to take things up a notch and extend the music mayhem to two whole days. It will take place on both the 15 and 16 of March 2013.
Day One will see world renowned DJ, Armin van Buuren bring his radio show, A State of Trance (ASOT) down to Kuala Lumpur. Now into its 600th episode, ASOT 600: The Expedition will see various special guests join Armin as they bring worldwide audiences the best of trance music. And on the second day, music revellers will be entertained by the likes of The Prodigy, PSY and many more as they busk in the carnivalesque atmosphere.
With so many acts to catch during FMFA, we pick our top three picks for both days.
Day One (ASOT 600)
Armin van Buuren
Voted five times as world number one DJ by DJ Magazine, Armin van Buuren is the biggest name in trance music today. His weekly radio show, ASOT reaches out to a total of 25 million listeners in 26 countries. He currently has four albums to his name. His 2008 album, Imagine debuted at number one on the Dutch album chart.

The German duo consisting of Nic Chagall and DJ Bossi revolutionised the dance scene with ground breaking hits such as Fire Wire and Exploration of Space. Formed in 1999, they have played in world famous festivals such as Electronic Daisy Carnival and various installations of Ultra Music Festival. After the release of their album, Sign of the Times, Cosmic Gate climbed an amazing 43 places to place 19th in 2009 DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ Poll.

Billed as the next rising stars the dance scene, Willem van Hanegem and Re-Ward formed W&W in 2007 and never looked back. They have won accolades from industry giants such as Armin van Buuren and Tiesto. They were quickly snapped up by major dance label, Armada Music and released their first album in 2011.

Day Two (FMFA)
One of the pioneers of the big beat genre, The Prodigy is made of Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim Reality. The legendary dance group has sold over 25 million records worldwide and won the Brit Awards for Best British Dance Group twice. The group that has been together since 1990 will be curating the Warrior’s Dance Arena line up as well as being the headline act.

Winner of this year’s Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Song of the Year, Fun has quickly won over millions of fans worldwide. It seemed like a long time ago in 2009 that Nate Ruess came together with Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff to form Fun. Their acclaimed album, Some Nights released last February is filled with anthems that you probably indulged in during your karaoke sessions.

Unless you have been living under a rock tied to the bottom of the ocean, you will have heard of PSY and his Youtube hit, Gangnam Style. The media proclaimed “King of Youtube” has garnered over a billion views and spawned numerous parodies. He has successfully conquered Hollywood and count Hollywood celebrities Tom Cruise, Britney Spears and Katy Perry as his fans.
